How do I adjust the sizing?
Every order includes the necessary tool to adjust the size of your watch. Depending on your bracelet or strap, you will receive either a small screwdriver, push-pin removal tool, or spring bar tool.
Push-Pin Bracelets
- Look at both ends of the pin on the side of the bracelet.
- One end of the pin will have a small slit that may look like the head of a flat-head screw. Do not push from this end.
- Place the included push-pin removal tool against the opposite end of the pin, which does not have the slit.
- Carefully push the pin through the link until it can be removed.
- Remove one link at a time.
- Reconnect the bracelet and insert the pin back through the link.
- Make sure the pin is fully seated and secure before wearing the watch.
- Try the watch on after each adjustment.
For most bracelets, remove links from both sides as evenly as possible so the clasp remains centered underneath your wrist.
Screw-Style Bracelets
- Locate the removable links near the clasp.
- Use the included screwdriver to carefully unscrew the screw holding the link together.
- Remove one link at a time.
- Reconnect the bracelet and securely tighten the screw.
- Try the watch on after each adjustment.
For most bracelets, remove links from both sides as evenly as possible so the clasp remains centered underneath your wrist.
Presidential, Flat Jubilee & Women's Jubilee Bracelets
These three bracelet styles are the exception to the centered-clasp rule.
The clasp does not need to be perfectly centered underneath your wrist. These bracelets may need more links on one side than the other so the clasp follows the natural curve of your wrist while keeping the watch centered on top.
Remove one link at a time and check the fit after each adjustment. Focus on how the watch and clasp sit naturally on your wrist rather than trying to keep an equal number of links on each side.
Cut-to-Size Rubber Straps
- Use the included spring bar tool to remove the rubber strap from the clasp.
- Locate the individual cutting segments on each side of the strap.
- Using your own scissors, carefully cut only one segment at a time.
- Reattach the strap to the clasp and try the watch on.
- If it is still too loose, remove the strap and cut one additional segment.
- Repeat until you reach your desired fit.
Important: Once a segment has been cut off, it cannot be added back. Never cut multiple segments at once. Always check the fit after each cut to avoid making the strap too short.
How do I set the time?
PB Timepiece watches use either a mechanical or quartz movement. Mechanical watches can be manually wound, while quartz watches are battery powered and do not require winding. If you have a quartz watch, simply skip the winding step below.
Most of our watches also feature a date function. On these watches, the first click of the crown adjusts the date, and the second click adjusts the time. If your watch does not have a date function, the first click will typically be the time-setting position.
Screw-Down Crown
Most PB Timepiece watches feature a screw-down crown that must be unlocked before making adjustments.
- Turn the crown counterclockwise until it unscrews and releases from the case.
- Mechanical movements only: With the crown in the unlocked position, turn it clockwise about 20–30 times to give the movement an initial wind. Quartz watches are battery powered, so this step does not apply.
- If your watch has a date function, gently pull the crown out one click to reach the date-setting position.
- Pull the crown out one additional click to reach the time-setting position.
- Turn the crown until the correct time is displayed.
- Push the crown all the way back toward the case.
- While applying gentle pressure, turn the crown clockwise until it is securely screwed back into place.
If your watch does not have a date function: Skip the date-setting position. Pull the crown out to its time-setting position and adjust the time normally.
Mechanical watches are automatic, so normal wrist movement will continue winding the watch while it is being worn. If your watch is left unworn long enough to stop, manually wind it again before wearing it.
Important: Always make sure a screw-down crown is fully secured after making adjustments. This helps maintain the watch's water resistance.
Aviator Collection
The Aviator Collection uses a standard crown and does not need to be unscrewed.
- Mechanical movements only: With the crown fully pushed in, turn it clockwise about 20–30 times to give the movement an initial wind. Skip this step for quartz watches.
- If your watch has a date function, pull the crown out one click for the date-setting position.
- Pull the crown out one additional click to reach the time-setting position.
- Turn the crown until the correct time is displayed.
- Push the crown completely back in when finished.
If your watch does not have a date function: Simply pull the crown out to the time-setting position, set the correct time, and push it back in.
What is an automatic movement?
An automatic movement is a mechanical watch movement that does not require a battery. It is powered by a spring inside the movement and automatically winds itself through the natural motion of your wrist while you wear it.
If the watch is left unworn for long enough, it may eventually stop. This is completely normal. Simply wind the watch using the crown, set the correct time, and begin wearing it again. Regular wrist movement will continue to keep it wound throughout the day.
What is a quartz movment?
A quartz movement is a battery-powered watch movement known for its accuracy and low maintenance. Unlike an automatic movement, it does not need to be wound or powered by the movement of your wrist.
The battery powers the movement continuously and will eventually need to be replaced once it runs out. Quartz watches can also be left unworn without stopping as long as the battery still has power.
What is a Seiko Mod?
A Seiko mod is a custom-built watch that uses a genuine Seiko movement paired with aftermarket components such as the case, dial, hands, bezel, and bracelet. This allows for unique designs and styles that are not available as factory-produced Seiko watches.
PB Timepiece watches are independently assembled and customized by us and are not manufactured, endorsed, or warrantied by Seiko. All warranty coverage is provided directly by PB Timepiece.
What is a chronograph?
A chronograph is a watch with a built-in stopwatch function. On our chronograph watches, the large center seconds hand is used for the stopwatch rather than the regular time.
The stopwatch is controlled using the pushers on the side of the case. Before using the chronograph, the pushers must first be unscrewed to unlock them. The top pusher starts and stops the stopwatch, while the bottom pusher resets it back to zero.
The small subdials display additional functions such as the regular running seconds, elapsed stopwatch minutes, and 24-hour time.
Important: After using the chronograph, always screw the pushers back in securely. This is necessary to help maintain the watch's water resistance.
How to use microadjustments?
Micro-adjustments allow you to make small changes to the fit of your watch without removing or adding links.
Oyster & Jubilee Bracelets
Our Oyster and Jubilee bracelets feature a Glidelock-style micro-adjustment system built into the clasp. This allows you to quickly make the bracelet tighter or looser without using any tools.
- Open the clasp completely.
- Locate the adjustable section of the bracelet inside the clasp.
- Press the bracelet down to release it from the adjustment track.
- While holding it down, slide the bracelet forward or backward to adjust the length.
- Once you reach the desired position, release the bracelet and make sure it locks securely into the adjustment track.
- Try the watch on and repeat as needed until you find the most comfortable fit.
Rubber Straps
Our rubber straps use a spring bar micro-adjustment system inside the clasp.
- Open the clasp and locate the adjustment holes.
- Use the included spring bar tool to carefully compress the spring bar.
- Move the spring bar to a different adjustment hole to make the strap slightly tighter or looser.
- Make sure both ends of the spring bar are fully seated and secure before wearing the watch.
- Try the watch on and repeat if another adjustment is needed.
The spring bar adjustments are designed for fine-tuning the fit after the rubber strap has been cut to size.
Important: When initially sizing a cut-to-fit rubber strap, always cut only one segment at a time. Once a segment has been removed, it cannot be added back.
